The German Pilzner (or Pils) is a lighter and slightly drier version of the Czech Pils. This well-known bottom-fermented beer is rarely brewed by craft breweries. A pity, because a good pilsner is always great refreshing and is a great aperitif.

The vast majority of the mash is Pils malt, thanks to which the beer has a light, straw color. Only a small percentage of wheat malt is added here (to improve foaming) and even a bit of Munich light malt to slightly increase the malt depth.

The soul of this beer consists of 100% noble German hop varieties grown in the Bavarian region of Hallertau - the bitter Taurus and the aromatic Hersbrucker and Tettnanger. An unusual, new wave procedure is adding hops at the stage of maturing at low temperatures, called "dry hopping". This gives the beer an even more pleasant aroma and proves that good old Pilsner doesn't have to be boring!
