- A wild blend of beers aged up to 4 years
Oude is a unique blend of wild beers aged 1-4 years. More than 1/3 of the whole mixture is aged in oak barrels (500L) for 4 years. Tommie Sjef has never used such old beer in its blends; this gives it a distinct and complex flavor. Another 50% is younger beer at the age of 1, which adds freshness, herbal and floral qualities to the blend. The remainder of the blend is a two-year-old beer that acts as a bridge between the old and the young.
