Meerts, also known as Biere de Mars, is a style of beer that is produced at the same time as the classic Lambik. Meerts is a lower % style, produced from a weaker wort obtained from washing the grains. Thus, Gueuzerie Tilquin uses already used fruit to produce Meerts. A La Syrah is a blend created by combining one-year-old Meerts with various two-year-old Lambics, fermented with grapes from the titular Syrah variety, characterized by smooth tannins, juicy aromas of black fruits, plums and licorice, complemented by light chocolate and pepper accents.
