It's not easy with Baltic Porter, much less its imperial version. The stakes are pretty high and it comes down to a simple statement - either fat or not at all. This beer simply MUST be very good, otherwise it simply makes no sense for it to exist.
A super-strong starting extract of 26 degrees Plato, a mass of chocolate and roasted malts, a lot of warming but well-balanced alcohol, a definite bitterness, coffee, chocolate, nuts, dried plums and a bold bitterness that goes along with all that richness, but not the kind that will trample everything down in the end, but the kind that will hold everything together nicely.
The theory every brewer and consumer knows, right? Now check out how the Thrzech Kumpli have performed here!
